This section considers the different requirements and environments, how to plan and layout a resource centre to make the best use of space and the diffferent requirments of users and how to accommodate them.

It also looks at furniture and equipment, offers tips for disaplays, and how to take care of materials, which can be susceptible to sun, heat, damp, rainwater, fire, dust, animals and insects.
